Beginning on Sept. 15 and ending on Oct. 15, Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to reflect on our rich Hispanic Heritage. Spain was the first country to settle the New World in the early 16th century and reigned for 300 years importing the Spanish language, cultural traditions and Catholicism. Today, aside from Spain, that legacy is shared by 24 countries in the Caribbean and Mexico as well as Central and South America.
